17th and 18th October.
In October 2009 we will be hosting the 13th Durham Juggling Convention.
This annual event draws jugglers from all over the country to meet, share skills, play games and watch the cabaret-style show in the evening. Both the convention and show are also open to the public, so if you’ve ever fancied learning to juggle or you’d like to find out what it’s all about then come along! The convention will be on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2009, from 10am on Saturday until 2.00pm on Sunday. It will be held at Wolsingham School near Durham. Wolsingham is 4 miles off the A68 and is easily accessible from the A1. The address is Leazes Lane, Wolsingham, Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham, DL13 3DN, click here for a map.
Full convention goers will be able to stay over in a room we have dedicated to sleeping, or camp on the school playing fields. We also have plenty of space for your campervan – so bring the stuff you need to get some sleep. We have catering on site from the school with a very reasonably priced menu, and there are many pubs, a chinese take away and a very good chip shop a short walk away. On Saturday evening at 8pm (doors at 7.30pm) we are proud to present our international cabaret show. We’ve got an amazing line up of juggling, comedy and acrobatics for you to enjoy. We look forward to seeing you there!
In 2008 Nathan Rae http://www.nathanrae.co.uk/ made a short film of the convention the trailer can be seen here http://www.vimeo.com/2701076
